Muay Thai

Muay Thai or Thai Boxing uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Often, Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it is characterized by the combination of punches, kicks, elbow and knee strikes. This allows the practitioner eight points of striking opposed to a more tradition two points (boxing) or four points of contact (karate). Muay Thai has a heavy focus on body condition and is perfect to promote the core VMMA principles of Fitness, Defense and Purpose.

This class focuses on the following methods and positions:

  • Punching
  • Elbows
  • Kicking
  • Knee Strikes
  • Foot-Thrusts
  • Clinching
  • Body Conditioning

Becoming a part of VMMA is much more than just joining a traditional gym, club or a dojo.

It’s joining a community of liked minded people in pursuit of Fitness, Defense and Purpose!
